Like other flavors of Selenium it will work in multiple browsers on multiple platforms.</p>
<p>You might want to use Selenium IDE to perform a quick and dirty test if the data and site never changes and is only used for a shirt while like perhaps a couple of days.  But if I want to use it longer term, I might try something else like Selenium Remote Control.</p>
<p>Some basic steps to use Selenium IDE:</p>
<ol>
<li>Install Selenium IDE (I installed it in Firefox for this example)</li>
<li>Open Firefox and go to the link you want to test</li>
<li>Launch Selenium IDE</li>
<li>By default you will be in Record mode</li>
<li>Select HTML Format</li>
<li>Click on some links, enter some text for your web application under test</li>
<li>Stop your test</li>
<li>Now run it</li>
